LONDON (ICIS news)--Borealis’cracker at its Porvoo site in Finland is running at reduced rates while the company is fixing some technical issues, the Austrian plastics major said on Thursday.

Borealis could not say when the plant, which has a capacity of 380,000 tonnes/year ethylene and 220,000 tonnes/year propylene, would be fixed or what its current running rate was.

“It is at reduced rates but it is not a massive reduction - we just have to do some repairs on a couple of furnaces,” Borealis’ CEO Mark Garrett said.
