China mulls ADD extension on US, EU, Japan chloroprene rubber

SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China has launched on Monday a one-year antidumping investigation on chloroprene rubber imports from Japan, the US and the EU, said an official from the country’s Ministry of Commerce.

The probe would help China decide whether to extend the current antidumping duties (ADD) on product imports from these countries for another five years, he said.

The initial five-year ADD ranging from 2% to 151% expired on 10 May 2010.

The ministry acted on a petition filed on 5 March by domestic chloroprene producers complaining about dumping activities from the three countries.

During the review period, China would continue to impose ADDs on chloroprene rubber imports from the US, EU and Japan, based on 2005 rates, the source said.
