SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japanese oxo-alcohols producer Chisso Corp is expected to have a scheduled shutdown of its facility located at Chiba prefecture in mid-May, market sources said on Thursday.

Chisso's oxo-alcohol plant is one of three in Japan. The firm supplies mainly to the domestic market, with minimal exports.

The facility, which has a nameplate capacity of 75,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and 25,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA), would be taken off line for around 20 days, the sources added.
