MUMBAI (ICIS news)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) is setting up a 40,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant in December at Bharuch, Gujarat, a company official said on Friday

"Mechanical construction will be completed in July or August and we expect to start up the plant in December," the official said on the sidelines of the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference 2010 (APIC) in Mumbai. The event takes place on 13–14 May.

Feedstock acetic acid will be supplied by the company's 150,000 tonne/year plant at the same site.

"The domestic market will take priority but we will export some cargoes depending on market conditions," he added.
