SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thai producer PTT Aromatics will shutdown its No 2 unit producing benzene and paraxylene (PX) in June for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The Mab Ta Phut-based unit producing 460,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 616,000 tonnes/year of PX would be shut for about 30 days, the source added.
The shutdown was not expected to have a big impact on the region's benzene prices, which were currently trading mostly for July loading cargoes, traders said.
