SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Jiangsu Leasty Chemical shut its second 210,000 tonne/year styrene monomer (SM) line in eastern China due to an outage, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

“The line is expected to be shut for around 25 days,” the source added.

The shutdown of the company’s first SM line occurred during the middle of last week, also on an outage, and is expected to remain shut for 20–30 days.

Other major SM producers in China include CNOOC-Shell petrochemical and BP-Secco petrochemicals.
