Crude down $1/bbl on firm dollar

LONDON (ICIS news)--Crude prices fell by more than $1/bbl on Thursday to take Brent crude on ICE Futures below $73/bbl on the back of a firmer US dollar.

By 10:45 GMT, July Brent crude had hit a low of $72.22/bbl, a loss of $1.47 from the Wednesday close of $73.69, before recovering to around $72.30.

At the same time, June NYMEX light sweet crude futures was trading around $68.95/bbl, having hit a low of $68.90, a loss of $0.97 from the previous close.
