MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Belarus fertilizer producer Grodno Azot is targeting a 40% increase in production capacity by 2016 as part of a mid-term development programme it announced on Tuesday.
In January-April 2010, Grodno Azot achieved a 3.9% year-on-year increase in the production of mineral fertilizers at 250,000 tonnes, while ammonia production rose 3.6% to 361,000 tonnes, the company said.
The state-owned Grodno Azot currently has the capacity to produce some 700,000 tonnes/year of mineral fertilizers. The company exports about 40% of its production volumes. In 2009, Grodno Azot produced 667,300 tonnes of mineral fertilizers, which was down 0.7% from the same period a year earlier.
