LONDON (ICIS news)--Borouge and Linde have formally signed the $1.075bn construction contract for the 1.5m tonne/year Borouge III cracker, the Abu Dhabi based Borealis/ADNOC joint venture said on Tuesday.

The signing ceremony took place at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, it added.

The new cracker will be the third of its kind to be built for Borouge and give the company at Ruwais, AbuDhabi, the world’s largest ethane cracker complex with a total ethlene capacity of 3.6m tonnes/year.
