HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Innospec plans to expand into the oilfield chemicals segment, the specialty chemicals and fuel additives producer said on Tuesday.

Innospec's Delaware-headquartered operation said it “plans to use its market knowledge and technical expertise to develop and market a product range specifically for this sector”.

The company said it would use the technologies developed for fuel treatment to the upstream sector in expanding into oilfield chemicals.

Innospec said it promoted Thomas Entwistle to vice president, oilfield specialties Americas, to lead the expansion. He was previously director of sales for performance fuel additives and the marine sector for the company’s fuel specialties business.

The company promoted James Vrzak to Entwistle's prior position as director of sales. He had served as regional manager in the performance fuel additives sector.
