SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China's Shandong Haili was running its 150,000 tonnes/year adipic acid (ADA) plant in Zibo, Shandong province, at 90% capacity following a turnaround this month, a company source said on Friday.
The plant was shut for a one week turnaround on 12 May, the source added.
ADA prices were assessed at $2,650-2,750/tonne (€2,147-2,228/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) NE (northeast) Asia this week, stable from the previous week, according to global chemical market intelligence service, ICIS pricing.
Major ADA producers in China include PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical and Shandong Hongye.
ADA is primarily used in the production of nylon 6,6, as well as in the manufacturing of polyurethanes, which are used in shoe soles and polyester resins. Nylon 6,6 is used for the manufacture of tyre cord for the automobile industry.
