LONDON (ICIS news)--Indian fertilizer importer and producer Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a tender for three cargoes of phosphate rock for shipment during June-August, the company confirmed on Friday.

The tender called for the import of three 18,000-20,000 tonne cargoes of phosphate rock of minimum P2O5 nutrient content of 29% to be delivered to the port of Mumbai. The tender will close on 7 June.

Phosphate rock is used in the production of phosphate fertilizers such as diammonium phosphate (DAP). India is one of the world’s largest consumers of phosphate fertilizer with contracted imports of DAP alone standing at over 7m tonnes in 2010.
