SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China's Hebei Chung Shun Chemical Co has been running its 500,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant in Xingtai at 65% of capacity after resuming operations in mid May following an outage, a company official said on Monday.
“We are currently fulfilling previous orders and [are] cautious with fresh orders because prices are falling,” the official said.
The plant is currently producing 900 tonnes/day of acetic acid, according to sources close to the company. The unit was shut on 27 April after issues related to its catalyst caused intermittent production, they added.
