MUMBAI (ICIS news)--State-run refiner Indian Oil Corp (IOC) expects to begin construction on its paraxylene-purified terephthalic acid (PX-PTA) plant at Vadodara in Gujarat state in “a month or two”, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We completed the feasibility study for the project in March this year,” the source said.

The plants would be located near the IOC refinery at Koyali and would produce 370,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene and 560,000 tonnes/year of PTA, he said.

The company was in the process of obtaining necessary approvals and financing for the project, the source said.

IOC expects to complete work on the plant by end-2012 or in the first quarter of 2013, the source added.
