SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Egyptian Propylene & Polypropylene Co (EPPC) is set to start trial production at its new facility in Port Said in the third quarter of this year, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
“Commercial production is expected during the fourth quarter,” the source said.
The facility, which would produce 400,000 tonnes/year propylene and 400,000 tonnes/year polypropylene (PP), was earlier expected to go on stream in April 2010.
No reason was provided for the delay in the start-up.
EPPC is a joint venture between Oriental Petrochemical Co, Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) and Oriental Weavers.
