SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Jul WTI $76.60/bbl down 19 cents BRENT Aug $78.70/bbl down 18 cents
Crude futures edged lower on Friday, amid worries over US demand following the release of downbeat economic data.

NAPHTHA: $694.00-697.00/tonne CFR Japan, up $2.50-3.50
The first half August contract rose further on Friday at $694.00-697.00/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, sparked by fresh Taiwanese spot purchase. Meanwhile, the second half August contract was valued at $693.00-696.00/tonne CFR Japan while the first half September contract stood at $692.00-695.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: $795-805/tonne; steady
Prices were notionally pegged steady as no buy-sell indications were heard for July and August loading cargoes. An offer for forward month September loading cargo was cited at $830/tonne FOB Korea that met a bid at $805/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: $735-750/tonne; up $5-10
Prices edged up on notional basis in line with offers for August loading cargoes cited at $757-758/tonne FOB Korea against bids at $745-750/tonne FOB Korea.
