SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nippon Oil has restarted its 120,000 tonne/year benzene reformer in Oita, Japan, this week after a scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Friday.

The reformer, which was shut down in mid-May, was running at about 70% following the restart, the source said, without specifying the start-up date.

Meanwhile, the company also commenced a scheduled shutdown at its 60,000 tonne/year benzene reformer in Sendai earlier this week, the source said.

Nippon Oil plans to restart the Sendai unit in mid-July, the source added.
