SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--US-based Eastman Chemical plans to shut its oxo-alcohols plant located in Jurong Island, Singapore, in July for a scheduled turnaround, market sources said on Wednesday.
The plant, with a nameplate capacity of 55,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA) and 50,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethyl hexanol (2-EH), was expected to be shut for around three weeks, sources said.
“We were informed that there will be no impact [on supply]. We will still be getting material during the shutdown,” a buyer said.
