HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US exports of the oxo-alcohol n-butanol decreased 40% in May from April, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) said on Tuesday.
May exports of n-butanol totalled 11,868 tonnes in May, compared with 19.932 tonnes in April, and was 1,546 tonnes fewer than in May 2009.
Singapore was the leading destination for US n-butanol, taking 5,122 tonnes in May.
Year to date, however, total 2010 US exports of 116,251 tonnes were 33% greater than the 87,398 tonnes exported during the same period a year ago.
US imports of n-butanol for the January-May 2010 period totalled 3,546 tonnes, 286% more than the 918 tonnes imported during the same period a year earlier.
