MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) has been operating its phosphoric acid plant at Paradeep in Orissa state at above 100% since 10 July, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The unit was producing 2,700 tonnes/day of phosphoric acid against an installed capacity of 2,650 tonnes/day, it added.

The plant, which has an annual output of 875,000 tonnes/year, had already produced around 462,000 tonnes of phosphoric acid by early July, according to the company.

IFFCO had plans to export the surplus acid it produced, a company source said without providing further details.

Meanwhile, the company had earlier announced its plan to expand the capacity of its 1.9m tonne/year diammonium phosphate (DAP) plant in Paradeep to around 2.5–3m tonnes/year by 2014.
