NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: Aug WTI $75.75/bbl, down 26 cents BRENT: Sep $75.20/bbl, down 17 cents
US crude futures traded below the $76/bbl mark after data showed consumer confidence at nearly one-year low. Persistent jitters over the Eurozone debt crisis also weighed on sentiment.

NAPHTHA: $617.50-620.50/tonne CFR Japan, down $4-$5.50
Asian first half September naphtha eased $4.00-5.50/tonne from Friday’s close at $617.50-620.50/tonne CFR Japan on Monday midday, as US crude futures hobbled below $76/tonne. Meanwhile the second half September contract was valued at $621.50-624.50/tonne CFR Japan and the first half October contract stood at $625.00-628.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: $765-775, up $5
Prices edged higher on Monday morning amid thin trading, with offers for September loading cargoes cited at $775-780/tonne FOB Korea. Buying interest was weak.

TOLUENE: $700-715, down $10
Prices slipped on Monday in line with softer crude futures. An offer for H2 August lifting at $715/tonne FOB Korea met a bid at $695/tonne FOB Korea. Talks for September loading cargoes were limited to one bid heard at $710/tonne FOB Korea, with no offer countered.
