HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Air Products will open a sales office in Abu Dhabi to focus on the Middle East market, the US-based industrial gases major said on Monday.
"Alongside our existing businesses in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi is strategically important for Air Products,” said Simon Little, general manager of Air Products’ Middle East division.
“In recent years, we have quickly built a leadership position supplying gases, equipment and operations expertise into sectors such as GTL [gas to liquids], LNG [liquefied natural gas] and refining,” he added.
The office would be located in the city centre, Air Products said without including a timetable.
The company noted that its existing Middle East businesses included a helium and cylinder gases filling and distribution facility, as well as a specialty gases centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Air Products also said it had built, owned and operated air separation units (ASUs) and hydrogen production plants throughout the region.
The company did not disclose the cost of the office.
