SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Malaysian state-owned oil major Petronas is currently operating its 300,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant in Kuantan at full rate due to sufficient feedstock, a company source said on Thursday.
This was in spite of a force majeure at its 2.36m tonne/year methanol production facility in ?xml:namespace>
“There is enough feedstock,” said a source, adding a third of methanol is fed into the MTBE plant while C4 makes up the remainder.
