SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPC) has shut its 73,000 bbl/day desulphuriser in Mailiao following a blast on Sunday, a company source said on Monday.

“There was a blast in the desulphurising unit. The fire hasn’t been extinguished,” he said.

The company spokesperson was not available for comment.

The outage at the unit would impact the crude runs at Formosa’s 540,000 bbl/day refinery at the site, traders said.
