MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Sibur has started to import heavy equipment for its new 500,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) facility to be built at Tobolsk, Russia, the petrochemical holding company said on Monday.

Later this year, Sibur said it expects the delivery of 23 pieces of heavy equipment, including a 1,096-tonne propane dehydration column as well as more than 650 containers of equipment.

The company had previously said it would start receiving equipment supplies in the third quarter of 2010.
In 2006, Sibur created the entity Tobolsk-Polymer to implement and operate its new PP project, which will be built at the premises of its Tobolsk-Neftekhim subsidiary.
In 2007, Sibur selected Fluor Corp to act as the project management company.
In December 2009, Tobolsk-Polymer and Linde-KCA-Dresden concluded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the construction of the new €450m ($584.4m) PP facility.
The PP facility, which will rely on technology from INEOS, is expected to come on stream in 2012.
