TORONTO (ICIS)--Air Liquide has acquired the assets and business activities of US industrial utilities provider Lion Copolymer Geismar Services (LCGS), the France-based international industrial gases major said on Thursday.

The acquired facilities were a large provider of utilities to chemical and other firms in Louisiana’s Geismar basin, Air Liquide said, without disclosing financial terms.

“The purchase of LCGS’ business activities further demonstrates Air Liquide’s growth strategy in existing and essential marketplaces,” said Michael Graff, president and CEO of Air Liquide’s US arm, American Air Liquide Holdings.

Air Liquide's Houston-based US business has over 100 industrial gas plants and employs a staff of over 4,000, according to its website.
