SINGAPORE (ICIS)--ExxonMobil has shut its 600,000 tonne/year polyethylene (PE) plant at Jurong Island, Singapore, and its PE supply has been affected as a result, a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"There is a short outage at our Singapore manufacturing site," said Karen Wong, a media relations and communications advisor at ExxonMobil Asia Pacific. "As a result, there’s an impact on the supply of polyethylene. At this point, we expect that the outage will take about two weeks.”

The company has informed its customers of the supply shortfall, she said.
