SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shen Hua Chemicals will turn around its 180,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Nantong on 12 August for maintenance during a seasonal lull, a company source said.
“The SBR plant will be down for 20 days for maintenance as August is usually a low demand season during the hot summer,” the source added.
Several downstream tyre plants in China have cut operating rates due to low off take of synthetic rubber in the summer months, industry sources said.
