SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japanese producer Sumitomo Chemical has restarted its 80,000 tonne/year No 2 methyl methacrylate (MMA) line at Jurong Island, Singapore, after week-long repairs, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The plant had resumed full operating rate although it was running at around 90% capacity before the shutdown caused by technical issues, the source added.
Sumitomo's 53,000 tonne/year No 1 MMA line at the same site was expected to restart at the end of August after having been shut down on 14 July for six weeks of scheduled maintenance, the source said.
