India’s GNFC delays start up of new etac plant to Jan

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) has delayed the start-up its new 40,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Bharuch, Gujarat, to January next year from December 2010, a company official said on Wednesday.

“We will start up in January instead, it is just a normal delay,” he added, but did not give details.

Major etac producers in Asia include Celanese, BP, Jiangsu Sopo, Shanghai Wujing, LCY Chemical Corporation and Korea Alcohol Industrial.
