HOUSTON (ICIS)--US weekly fuel ethanol inventories were at 19.34m bbl (812m gal) in the week ended 6 August, down by 1% from 19.54m bbl a week earlier, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.
US ethanol production averaged 866,000 bbl/day last week, also down by around 1% from 873,000 bbl/day in the week ended 30 July.
Market sources said the weather could be a factor affecting ethanol production, citing high temperatures across the US in recent days.
Some ethanol plants could be running slower as the heat can affect cooling tower temperatures, a source said.
US ethanol production in July averaged 836,000 bbl/day, down from an average of 839,000 bbl/day in June.
