SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BP Petronas Acetyls (BPPA) has resumed operations at its 535,000 tonne/year plant at Kertih in Malaysia’s eastern Terengganu state over the weekend, a company official said on Monday.

“The plant restarted ... and it is currently operating at around 80% capacity,” the official said.

The plant was taken off line in late June due to mounting inventory pressure.

Major acetic acid producers in Asia include Celanese, Jiangsu Sopo, Shanghai Wujing and Fanavaran Petrochemical Co.
