Brazil’s domestic production of liquid caustic soda between January and July of 2010 was 880,117 dmt, 7.7% higher from 816,843 dmt during the same period in 2009, Abiclor said.

Liquid caustic soda imports were 580,948 dmt for the first seven months of 2010, and were higher this year by 10.6% from 525,342 dmt in 2009. The US was the major source, exporting 547,460 dmt into Brazil.
