YNCC to shut No 1 BTX unit for maintenance in April 2011

SEOUL (ICIS)--South Korean aromatics producer Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC) will shut down its No 1 benzene, toluene and solvent xylene (BTX) unit in April next year for one month’s scheduled maintenance, said a company source on Monday.
The Yeosu-based facility produces about 140,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 80,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 50,000 tonnes/year of solvent-grade xylene.
The turnaround would coincide with a cracker shutdown, the source said.
YNCC operates two other BTX units at Yeosu. The three units were currently operating at 100%, according to the source.
Other key aromatics producers in South Korea include SK Energy and GS Caltex.
