Air Products to build air separation unit for Belgium steel mill

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Air Projects plans to build and operate an air separation unit to provide oxygen, nitrogen and argon to an ArcelorMittal steel mill in Gent, Belgium, the US industrial gases company said on Tuesday.

The air separation unit would have a capacity of 2,000 tons/day and would come online in 2012, Air Products said.

Air Products did not disclose the terms of its long-term supply contract with ArcelorMitall.

Air Products said two existing air separation units at the Gent site would continue to supply ArcelorMittal.
