The fire was "probably caused by a gas leak" but investigations were still going on, a source said, adding that the fire had been put out and no body was injured in the incident.
The cracker was running "at 80% now" and was expected to resume full capacity soon, the source added.
There was no impact on the operations of the downstream plants, another source close to the company said.
