LONDON (ICIS)--Uhde Inventa-Fischer has been awarded a contract for the licensing, engineering and procurement of a polyamide-6 polymerization plant in China for Hangzhou Hangding Nylon Tech, the engineering company said on Thursday.
The new plant, which will have an annual capacity of 47,000 tonnes/year, would produce high-performance polyamide-6 textile-grade chips, Uhde said.
The plant, based in Zhejiang province, is due to start up before the 2012 Chinese New Year, Uhde added.
Uhde would supply all the proprietary and key equipment as well as supervise the erection and commissioning activities of the plant, including the training personnel, it said.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
According to Uhde, its polymerization process technology would improve not only the rate of yield of the raw material caprolactam, but it would also optimise the yield increase in the fully drawn yarn (FDY) and partially oriented yarn (POY) spinning process as well as in the subsequent downstream processing.
