BASF targets price increase for Europe polyurethane products

LONDON (ICIS)--BASF will target price increases for its polyurethane products in Europe of around €200/tonne ($256/tonne) with immediate effect, or as contract terms allow, the German chemical major said on Friday.

“BASF will be increasing its prices for MDI (methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate) and polyols and polyurethane systems in Europe on average by €200/tonne,” it said in a statement.

On 1 September, a BASF company source said the group intended to increase its polystyrene (PS) prices in September by €85/tonne from August.
