MOSCOW (ICIS)--Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNKh) is due to shut down its ethylene (C2) unit for 20 days of regular maintenance on 20 September, a source from the Russian petrochemical producer said on Thursday.

NKNKh is also planning five-day turnarounds of its polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) facilities in early October.

NKNKh exports more than half of its total output. The company previously announced plans to produce 600,000 tonnes of ethylene in 2010, up from 560,000 tonnes in 2009.

NKNKh expects its PP production to reach 200,000 tonnes this year, while its high density PE (HDPE) output is due to be about 100,000 tonnes.

The company is based in Tatarstan, central Russia.
