China's Huizhou MMA runs plant at full capacity after restart

SINGAPORE (ICIS )--Huizhou MMA Co Ltd, a unit of Japan's Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) in China, is currently running its methyl methacrylate plant at full capacity after the unit was restated on 8 September, said a company source on Friday.

The 90,000 tonne/year MMA plant was shut on August 27 for two weeks of scheduled maintenance, said the company source.

Mitsubishi Rayon is one of the largest MMA producers in Asia.

Other Asian MMA producers include Asahi Kasei, Sumitomo Chemical and Formosa Plastics.

MMA is used to produce PMMA polymer, cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions.
