US Invista, DuPont settle nylon 6,6 lawsuits

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Invista and DuPont signed an agreement to settle three nylon 6,6 lawsuits, the companies said on Monday.

The settlement covers nylon 6,6 polymer technology, feedstock adiponitrile (ADN) and disputes over existing supply agreements.

The settlement resolves litigation over supply and technology agreements between DuPont’s Performance Polymers business and Invista’s intermediates business dating back to Invista’s origins.

Invista was formed in 2004 after privately owned Koch Industries acquired DuPont’s textiles and interiors business in a $4.4bn (€3.5bn) deal and merged it with its Kosa fibres business.

No further details were available from either company. An Invista spokesperson said both parties agreed not to comment about the settlement.
