SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Showa Shell Sekiyu will begin a maintenance turnaround at a crude distillation unit (CDU) and several secondary processing units at its 210,000 bbl/day refinery in Yokkaichi, in early October, an industry source said on Monday.
The company would take off line its 75,000 bbl/day No 2 CDU, together with its 30,000 bbl/day No 2 vacuum distillation unit (VDU), on around 1 October, according to the source.
Both units would be shut until mid-November, the source added.
In addition, the source told ICIS that Showa Shell Sekiyu was also expected to shut a gasoil hydrodesulphurisation unit and a gasoline unit at the facility.
The facility, which is located at Yokkaichi in Honshu, Japan, is primarily a fuels refinery.
