LONDON (ICIS)--LANXESS has appointed Hubert Fink as its new head of basic chemicals, it said on Monday.

Fink, currently head of the semi-crystalline products (SCP) business, would replace Hans-Georg Schmitt, who was due to retire on 1 January 2011.

Michael Zobel, currently responsible for the ion exchange resins (ION) business unit, would become the new head of SCP on 15 October this year, the German specialty chemicals company said.

Jean-Marc Vesselle, who currently heads the global product management and strategic development of the ION business unit, would take over Zobel’s present role at the same time, LANXESS said in a statement.
