Bayer transfers safety, explosion expertise to tech services group

LONDON (ICIS)--Bayer is transferring its process and plant safety operations based in Leverkusen, Germany, to the process engineering group Bayer Technology Services  (BTS), it said on Thursday.

BTS will offer the safety, reaction control and explosion protection support and hazard assessment expertise of the Bayer CURRENTA department to third parties worldwide.

Fifty three employees will transfer with the department to BTS on 1 October.

BTS has regional offices in 11 countries and last year had sales of €380m ($521m). It has 2,600 employees.
