LONDON (ICIS)--An initial October toluene contract has been agreed at $762.50-765/tonne (€557-558/tonne), up $27.50-29/tonne from the previous month, according to two producers on Friday.

The contract was agreed on a free on board (FOB) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.

“We have seen all aromatics values climb up over September,” said one of the producers.

The producer added that with firmer toluene values in the other regions, Europe had become more of an export zone, which was taking pressure off the local market.

Confirmation from other market players was pending.
