SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Heilongjiang Zhongmeng Longxin Chemical Co restarted its methyl methacylate (MMA) plant in northeastern China on 27 September, following an outage caused by feedstock shortage, a company source said on Friday.

Mechanical issues had delayed the restart of the plant from the original schedule of 15 September. The unit, which has a 30,000 tonne/year and a 70,000 tonne/year line, was taken off line on 16 August.

Operations were “normal”, said the company source, without disclosing the current operating rate of the plant.

MMA is used in manufacturing cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions for application in a wide array of industries.
