Caldic completes acquisition of UK distributor Omnichem

LONDON (ICIS)--Chemicals distributor and producer Caldic has completed the acquisition of UK distributor Omnichem, the Netherlands-headquartered company said on Friday.

Caldic said the deal underlined its strategy to further expand its business entities and that the Omnichem business would be a complementary addition to the existing activities of its business in the UK.

“The current activities of Caldic UK are focused on solvents, speciality chemicals and food ingredients. Therefore, Omnichem is, with the distribution of acids and lyes, a perfect addition to these activities,” the company said in a statement.

The companies did not release any financial details of the deal.
