RIO DE JANEIRO (ICIS)--Brazilian producer Vale Fertilizantes plans to complete in May 2011 the expansion of its phosphoric acid plant in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, a company source said on Wednesday.
The project will increase the plant's capacity to 925,000 tonnes/year from 675,000 tonnes/year.
The plant should reach full capacity by July 2011, said the source, who was speaking on the sidelines of the IFA Production and International Trade Conference, held by the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA).
Vale Fertilizantes was formerly known as Fosfertil before Brazilian miner Vale increased its stake in the fertilizer producer to 78.90%.
