“In the wake of this event, we have been forced to significantly reduce our production of cumene and phenol,” said the source.
As a result, Novapex will put its customers on 50% allocation for phenol, the source added.
“We would have even been forced to completely stop our cumene unit this week if we had not taken certain measures to continue running. However, these measures are not enough to avoid 50% allocation on all phenol orders, starting Monday 11 October,” said the source.
