SINGAPORE (ICIS)--German chemical firm BASF said on Friday it has opened a new polyurethane (PU) systems house in Srem, Poland, where it will develop and manufacture PU products for a wide range of industries in the region.

It expects growth to primarily come from the construction, cooling appliance and automotive industries, BASF said in a statement.

“This is a further step towards the continuous expansion of our leading position in the polyurethane market,” said Wayne Smith, president of BASF’s polyurethanes division.
